TOMÁS TORANZO ALONSO (22-07-1943)

Tomás Toranzo Alonso fue fusilado el dia 22 de Julio de 1943 en las tapias del cementerio del Este, actualmente La Almudena.
Era hijo de Fermín y Aurora. Nació en San Sebastián (Beasain) y estuvo preso en Madrid en la cárcel de Porlier. Su mujer se llamaba Isabel Cobos Barco, era natural de Cáceres. Vivían en la parte vieja de Madrid en el barrio de Lavapies.

P.S: for not being killed, his brother (my grand-father) went to the foreign Legion. During this war he suffred different mutilations and serious health issues. After he came back to Europe, he went to Belgium and pass his days there.
He was banned from Spain for more than 17 years. He has been accepted again after the intervention of the Belgian Queen who was also spanish. His was Valentin Toranzo Alonso. He became a great artist who won international price with his art who sometimes "spoke" about the spanish civil war.
